GM Financial Teams Up with Mentor Spaces to Engage and Attract Underrepresented Professionals Through Mentorship

GM Financial is launching a collaboration with Mentor Spaces, the largest community-driven mentorship platform for underrepresented talent, to help further drive their diversity, equity and inclusion (DE&I) efforts. Through this collaboration, GM Financial leaders and team members from various parts of the industry will cultivate mentoring relationships with diverse audiences.

“As part of the General Motors enterprise, GM Financial seeks to become the most inclusive organization in the world. Part of that means scaling up our mentorship efforts to diverse participants,” said Shunda Robinson, GM Financial’s Global VP of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.

Mentor Spaces will provide a platform designed to make it easier for GM Financial to attract, hire and retain underrepresented talent, further helping the company align with GM’s aspiration to become the most inclusive organization in the world.

The growing Mentor Spaces community will enhance the GM Financial brand and introduce diverse talent to the GM Financial network. Members will be able to match directly with professionals of their choice based on their goals. Through Q&A and live sessions, members can also gain insight into their chosen career or interests. These personal networking sessions will also allow GM Financial mentors to provide exclusive content to their mentees such as financial education.

“We are thrilled to be working with a company with a clear commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion,” said Chris Motley, founder and CEO, Mentor Spaces. “With more and more companies investing in DE&I, we’re proud to be in alignment with a leader like GM Financial to bring these types of initiatives to life. Our platform’s unique approach to the practice of mentorship will empower GM Financial mentors to easily connect and make an impact with the next generation of leaders.”

GM Financial continues to increase diversity, equity and inclusion efforts within the auto finance industry, and in local communities across the world. Efforts such as KEYS® by GM Financial, the company’s financial wellness program, provides a wealth of education to drive increased financial literacy and serves as a resource for anyone navigating the auto financing process.
